Christmas Countdown: Day 18 🎄

Being positive is not just being happy. It’s a way of thinking. Here is an example:
Negative thinking:
“I didn’t get the opportunity I wanted.”
“I’m not good enough. I always fail.”
“I give up, I’ve tried it ONCE.”
Positive thinking version:
“This wasn’t the right opportunity for me, but it is teaching me something. I have learnt a lot from this, I’m growing, and something better will come when the timing is right, this has also shown me what I truly want and what I need to do in order to get there.”
See the difference this can make on your mood? It’s creating a different happier, positive mindset. This will transform your life. You either go through life thinking negative about everything leading to more sadness, creating more problems or you can think in a more positive light, creating better opportunities, making your day happier and lighter. Problems are easy solved when thinking positive. Thinking this way also helps to be more organised with your day. Seeing the beauty in life that you didn’t see before. You may think to yourself… “but Rachel this just sounds like you’re saying “be happy” to me?” Absolutely not! Why not give it a try? You can use it in any scenario! More examples below:
Negative:
“Today is raining, it is so dull and gloomy outside, I wanted to go out”
Positive:
“Today is raining and I wanted to go out, I still can let’s just brave the rain! We can have a shower when we get home!”
or
“Today is raining and I wanted to go out, hey! Let’s do something indoors instead. Let’s bake a cake and then watch a movie!”
Another example:
Negative:
“Urgh I got a bad grade on my exam. I suck at everything, I GIVE UP!”
Positive:
“I got a bad grade on my exam, maybe I could have revised better. What can I do next time to make sure I get a good grade? If I try my best, that’s all the matters. I’m better at this skill. Maybe I can use this skill to my advantage! Not everyone is perfect at the same thing.”
Give it ago and apply it to your everyday life!
